Engaging Families in Literacy Practices
Christy Irish, PhD
The presentation will begin with the research and importance of engaging families in emergent literacy. Families want what is best for the children, but often social and economic resources prevent them from reaching these goals. There are activities that can expand on the absorbent mind and engage families in concrete learning. Shared reading activities and resources that guides can share with families will be explored.
