Garden to Table Chef and Instructor
Mountaintop Montessori, a private independent school, is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a part-time (25 hours per week) Garden to Table (cooking instructor) position during the school year.

Mountaintop Montessori provides the greater Charlottesville community with an exceptional and authentic Montessori education, serving children and families from infancy through adolescence. Our campus is home to year-round programming in which children thrive through experiential learning, interactions with the natural world, and collaborative discovery. Our campus is a 9-acre classroom including multiple gardens, a greenhouse, a certified wildlife habitat, and a beautiful kitchen.

About the Position:
Desired profile for this position is someone who has experience working with children, has the ability to cook (especially for large groups) and someone who understands and follows kitchen safety and hygiene procedures. This position instructs children ranging from 1st to 8th grade in cooking, nutrition and basic kitchen safety.
This position begins immediately and is contracted through early June with the potential of continuing into the next school year.
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM, plus one hour per week for shopping/planning
Compensation: Annual compensation range $17,500- 19,000, to be prorated based on start date.
