The Woods, A Montessori School, is committed to developing the whole child in accordance with their individual needs adhering to authentic Montessori practices to provide a foundation that cultivates a lifelong love of learning grounded in peace, respect, independence, and excellence intended for the continued success of our students.

+Children's House

Program Hours:
Full Day: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
Half Day: 8:15 am to 12:00 pm
School Day: 8:15 am to 3:00 pm*
*Only available for students who are 5 or older before September 30th

Accreditation(s):
THE SPRINGS (our sister school) is a fully accredited school through the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the AdvancEd: Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). THE SPRINGS is one of only three Montessori schools in Northern Virginia with this prestigious recognition. THE SPRINGS also holds an accreditation through the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). THE WOODS is currently undergoing its accreditation as the sister school to THE SPRINGS and fully expects to achieve this milestone in 2019.

The Virginia Montessori Association is a non-profit (501(c)3) that was established in 2015 to bring Montessorians in Virginia together and to offer a community from which we all could benefit.  Administrators, educators, parents and other supporters can connect, inform and communicate in a way that is of value to all.
