Alissa McKown
A Montessori educated child from Colorado, Alissa became active again as a Montessorian when she enrolled her child in a parent-infant class in Charlottesville, Va. She was a parent volunteer at her children’s school, Mountaintop Montessori, for several years before joining the faculty and taking the AMI Assistants to Infancy training course with Silvia Dubovoy in San Diego, California. She has led a Toddler classroom as well as the Parent-Infant program at Mountaintop since then. She also works as a Postpartum Doula and in supporting parents for parenthood using strategies of mindfulness.
