Britt Gendell
Treasurer
Britt has worked as an educator for over ten years. While living in Boulder, CO, she advised small business owners and the general public on a wide range of sustainability issues. She returned to Virginia to pursue a career teaching adolescents. She earned state certifications to teach middle school science and high school earth science. Britt became interested in the Montessori pedagogy while substituting in different Montessori schools throughout Charlottesville. She joined the middle school classroom at Mountaintop Montessori in 2012. Her teaching philosophy aligned with the Montessori pedagogy, and in 2013 she completed the NAMTA/AMI Adolescent Orientation at Hershey Montessori in Ohio. Britt is currently a guide in the middle school classroom at Mountaintop Montessori, and she is responsible for providing science, history, health, and physical education lessons. Her two sons attend Mountaintop, and she strongly believes in the profound impact a Montessori education can have on a child.
