Solving for "X" Teaching Students to Thrive in Uncertainty
John Hunter, teacher and creator of the World Peace Game will share the core principles of his game created in 1978, explaining how open ended, overwhelming, ambiguous and complex problems are good learning opportunities for students to develop thinking critically, collaboratively and creatively. Hunter has spoken at several Montessori national conferences and will avidly relay his work’s philosophical alignment with Maria Montessori’s practices and principles.
Native Virginian and graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, John Hunter is an award-winning gifted teacher and educational consultant. In 1978 Hunter launched his geo-political simulation the World Peace Game. Over time, with the growing global focus on increasingly complex social and political conditions, the game has gained new impetus. Hunter succinctly explains, “The World Peace Game is about learning to live and work comfortably in the unknown.”
