Lovettsville Montessori School
Lovettsville Montessori School began in 2006 with five students in the home of its founder, Allison Frederick Harteis. From its beginning, LMS has strove to provide the time and the space for young children to learn, to create and to enjoy their time together within the context of a Montessori environment. It is our mission at LMS to foster an environment of learning. We care for each other and for the natural world around us. We recognize the importance of the child’s family as the first place of love and learning, and we work to continue that safe place for children. We want to always work with the families to best serve the children in their striving toward independence and knowledge. As the school grows to include elementary-aged children, we strive to sustain an optimum Montessori environment for the different stages of development through preparing the environment and allowing the children to be agents in their own growth and education.
