We are so excited to welcome two new members to our volunteer Board of Directors: Megan Kain and Mariana Vicéns.

Megan holds an AMS Montessori credential in both Infant/Toddler and Early Childhood. She is currently fulfilling her teaching dream of working in a public Montessori school in Northern Virginia. Megan wants to help move Montessori forward to be accessible for all students in both private and public sectors, and wishes to help Montessorians feel confident in guiding children that require specialized interventions. By serving on the board, she hopes to contribute to VMA's mission of equitable expansion of Montessori in Virginia.

Mariana is Assistant Head of School at Aidan Montessori School in Washington, D.C. and holds credentials in both Infant/Toddler and Early Childhood. As a Montessori child and educator, Mariana believes that every leap of faith we take with young children plants the seeds for a better future. Having been an educator for over 20 years, she now finds herself in a leadership role where she sees that making a difference happens on both macro and micro levels. Serving on the board allows her to stay connected with people who share the same mission and speak the same language.
