Hampton Roads International Montessori School is seeking dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Montessori teachers to join our growing school community. We are currently accepting applications for Toddler, Children’s House, Elementary, and High School teaching positions at our Hampton and Newport News campuses.

Position Overview
Montessori teachers are responsible for creating and maintaining a prepared environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of students. Teachers guide students through individualized and small-group lessons, observe and document student progress, communicate with families, and work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to support the goals of the classroom and school.
Responsibilities Include:
Preparing and maintaining a beautiful, organized, and engaging Montessori classroom environment
Presenting lessons and supporting student learning based on developmental needs and Montessori principles
Observing students and documenting growth, progress, and areas of need
Building strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Supporting classroom routines, independence, grace and courtesy, and positive social development
Communicating professionally and regularly with families and administration
Participating in professional development, staff meetings, school events, and other responsibilities outlined in the annual contract
Contributing positively to the school community and supporting the mission of HRI Montessori
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Montessori certification preferred
Candidates willing to attend Montessori training will be considered
Experience working with children in a school or early childhood setting preferred
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
A warm, professional, dependable, and collaborative approach
Commitment to the Montessori philosophy and child-centered education
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Additional days and responsibilities as outlined in the annual contract
