Wildflower schools are communities of entrepreneurs, visionaries and nurturers from all walks of life. Ixora Montessori School provides a nurturing, educational, authentic Montessori environment for children ages 14 months through 6 years old.

We are currently accepting applications for:

• Infant/Toddler/Early Childhood part-time teachers/Substitutes, with possibility of growth to full-time positions

• Substitutes

Ixora Montessori School is looking for teachers who:

• Respect Children.

• Are passionate/respectful about our natural world and enjoy being outdoors and engaging children in nature studies.

Job duties include:

Caring for young children through safe and effective care practices.

• Learning and implementing Montessori educational principles.

• Assisting with feeding, meals, and diapering

• Consistent and effective communication with lead teacher and other assistants.

• Maintaining a clean learning environment by using safe hand-washing practices and assisting in cleaning eating, play, and sleep areas daily

Schedule:​

• Monday to Friday

We do look for the following as we consider candidates to join our team:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Some experience in early childhood education.

• Ability to function in an active, flexible, and active environment.

• Ability to tolerate the outdoor environment through all weather conditions.

• A clean criminal history record.

We are looking for employees who are:

• Dependable - consistent attendance.

• Adaptable/flexible - can manage frequent shifts and changes throughout the day.

• Detail-oriented - can manage small and large tasks with multiple moving parts

• Independent/self-starter - can manage time and tasks without regular supervision.

Preference will be given to employees who hold the following current certifications:

• CPR/First Aid.

• Virginia Preservice Training.

• Child Abuse and Neglect: Recognizing, Reporting, and Responding for Educators.
