Williamsburg Montessori School is accepting applications for an experienced Upper Elementary Lead teaching position. WMS’s Upper Elementary Program serves children ages 9 through 12. WMS is an independent, coeducational school which provides authentic Montessori education to 140 students between the ages of 18 months and 14 years. Located in the beautiful community or Williamsburg, Virginia, centrally located to the coast and the mountains, WMS is a vibrant community of learners committed to the highest standards of Montessori practice.

Teaching duties require knowledge and implementation of Montessori theory and principles. The candidate must be skilled at observation, managing varied classroom behaviors, developing lesson plans, and maintaining student reports and records. Applicant must have a MACTE accredited AMS credential, a commitment to building long term relationships with students, parents, and colleagues plus a desire to learn and grow as a teacher. Candidate should be open to feedback, collaboration and compromise.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Minimum: Upper Elementary (9-12) credential with at least 2 years of lead teacher experience

• Preferred: Lower and Upper Elementary (6-12) credential
