Fulton Montessori School is a small, growing, 501(c)(3) non-profit Montessori preschool program with a strong work ethic for access and equity that has deep roots in Greater Fulton. COVID-19 UPDATES We are following current VDSS and CDC recommendations for pandemic safety guidelines. All employees will be provided with reusable face masks and will share daily disinfecting tasks per VDSS recommendations. Expectations are to wear clean masks daily, to wash hands upon arrival and frequently throughout the day, use sanitizer as needed, wear gloves as needed, and wear school-provided apron during work hours, with other expectations changing as needed. POSITION DETAILS The Montessori Lead Teacher position for Children’s House 1 (Classroom 1) is a full-time, salaried position which begins August 16th, 2021 (start date can be earlier in the summer if desired.) Schedule: Monday - Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm with a one, unpaid hour break daily Pay rate: $33,000 - 35,000 DOQ Benefits: paid Federal holidays and all school breaks (4.25 weeks (about 22 days) of school-wide break days); 8 PTO days; employee tuition discount negotiable JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Lead Teacher guides the work of the Assistant Teacher and children and works to maintain a beautiful, clean, and safe environment that is socially, emotionally, physically, and academically appropriate for children ages 2.5-6.5, as set forth by the AMS/AMI organizations, VDSS, DOE, etc. Our ideal candidate will easily fit into our kind and hardworking team; is punctual and reliable; has great communication skills; is proactive with problem-solving tendencies; can learn from mistakes and turn them into growth opportunities; will show respect and kindness towards children and others; has a love for learning and for guiding the child; has a natural sense of order and cleanliness; can give and take direction; is comfortable with classroom management; can follow-through on tasks and is able to organize and prioritize as needed.; can stay attentive and alert at all times; uses open communication and follows direction while also asking questions as needed; is willing to defer to Administration leadership regarding parent communication or policy items as needed; and is able observe and take notes as needed. Specific non-academic tasks may include daily snack preparation, dish washing, toy and material sanitizing, environment sanitizing and any other duties that support the children, staff, or parents as needed. REQUIREMENTS Montessori Credential for Early Childhood (ages 2.5 -6 years) Reliable transportation Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain as soon as possible upon hire) Read, understand, follow and uphold Fulton Montessori School Employee Handbook Guidelines, COVID-19 Policies and all updates as they occur. Pass background checks and adhere to regulations required by VDSS Attend all necessary trainings and- school functions, including after-school events, Parent Information Nights (PINs), staff training days, and staff meetings.
