Using an income-based sliding tuition rate, FMS serves a wide range of working families and is proud to provide affordable year-round Montessori education to our community. POSITION DETAILS: 8:00-5:00pm, M-F (with 1-hour unpaid break) Remote work occasional with adequate staffing, occasional responsibilities outside work hours Year-round Reports to: Board of Directors Compensation and Benefits $50,000- $60,000 Salaried, permanent, full-time $500 Hiring bonus at 3 months 8 paid Federal holidays (Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day) 4 weeks of school-wide breaks – (FT salaried and paid breaks, PT unpaid school breaks) 10 PTO days (hours comparable to your workday) available after a 3-month probationary period from your start date (employee contract details these terms and conditions) Start Date: ASAP to begin training under existing Director or 5/29/2023 General: Ensures Montessori standards are executed and maintained Executes and coordinates fundraising initiatives by procuring donors, engaging volunteers as needed, securing sponsorships, and tracking event costs. Collaborates with the Board of Directors to ensure FMS policies are sustainable and comply with licensing guidelines Oversees licensing inspections, Admissions, Virtual tours, Student application review, Classroom visit follow-up with Leads, tuition, contract details, preparation, Coordination of classroom placements, enrollment projections, programming Responsible for overseeing and maintaining office and classroom supplies and materials budgets Responsible to keep organizational and programmatic data current for grant writer and/or Board of Directors for grant and funding opportunities Participation in VBQ Staff Evaluates staff and offers feedback, coaching, and professional development Reviews and extends Lead contracts annually Conducts Monthly Team Meetings Observes in classrooms Approves all paid and unpaid time off Approves staff hours for payroll Issues disciplinary action Coordinates staff schedules Coordinates hiring and off-boarding: Recruitment Interviewing Extends job offers Qualifications Montessori training, AMI or AMS Bachelors Degree VA Department of Education Qualification standards for Program Director Dedication to the practice of the Montessori educational philosophy Independent school or non-profit administration experience Coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Demonstrated leadership qualities Excellent communication skills Fund development experience preferred Virginia Preservice Training for Childcare Staff (free 10 hour training) Preferences Master’s Degree Experience with Quickbooks and/or budgeting Grant Writing experience or interest Experience working in a non-profit Familiarity with VA DSS Child Care Subsidy Program Knowledge of VA DOE Standards for Licensed Child Day Centers Contact Information for Applicants Send your information to: Board of Directors EMAIL: [email protected] We look forward to reviewing your cover letter, resume and references and learning about how your experiences could serve our growing school!
