Henrico Richmond Montessori School is seeking a full-time Lead Adolescent/STEM Middle School Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Our growing Middle School STEM program at RMS serves middle school students (7 & 8 grade) as well as two classes of 6th year students. The Middle School STEM Teacher is responsible for all aspects of the educational advancement for the students under her/his charge utilizing the best principles based in the Montessori tradition of education. Students participate in their own student-run business, off-campus field studies, inter-sessions, financial projects, community service and outreach, service learning, student led conferences, etc. The teaching team currently consists of four lead teachers. Responsibilities include planning, leading, and implementing the Montessori curriculum, supporting parents and students, and participating in the culture of the school community and professional development opportunities. The school seeks growth-minded candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential. Candidates should have three years teaching experience in math, science, or related professional experience. The ideal candidate will have Montessori credential and an advanced degree in the science field. Candidates applying without a Montessori credential should be willing to seek one-details will be discussed further in the interview process.
