Primary Lead at Chesapeake Montessori School

Chesapeake Montessori School in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an experienced full-time Lead Teacher for Children's House.

Applicant MUST hold a Montessori Early Education certification through an accredited program.

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for a classroom of 25 children per day and supervising a Montessori intern who will be the classroom assistant.

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for giving lessons, assessing development and progress of children in the classroom, all parent communications and conferences for the classroom, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and appropriateness of the classroom, and writing lesson plans for all students.

This is an (11-month) position (school year plus 6 weeks in the summer program).
The employee will have winter break, spring break, 3-week summer break, and all federal holidays off. We offer discounts on tuition for children of employees.
11-month employees receive 2 weeks of paid leave each calendar year.
We do not currently offer health insurance at this time.
Job Type: Full-time Salary: From $35,000.00 per year

Education: Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience: Montessori Lead Teaching: 4 years (Required)
License/Certification: Montessori Certification in Early Education (Required)
