Upper Elementary Teacher

Bedford, VA

World Community Education Center is seeking an Upper Elementary teacher for a mixed age (9-12) classroom of 7 to 10 students, to begin August 2020. We seek a dedicated and nurturing individual, enthusiastic about children and eager to join our small, family-oriented community on a beautiful rural campus. The ideal educator will guide students’ academic, social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs; challenging each child to reach his/her fullest potential, in accordance with the Montessori philosophy.

Since 1975, WCEC has offered quality Montessori education based on universal values and love of learning. We cultivate a strong sense of community through school-wide activities, service projects, and outdoor experiences. In addition to the traditional Montessori curriculum, we embrace other areas and methods of learning.

This position is a 10-month position (August-May) for approximately 28hrs/week. There is some flexibility in hours.
